Kirk’s Camp provides professional coaching for aspiring professional freestyle snowboarders.
Based in Summit County, CO but operating worldwide, our program utilizes on snow coaching, dryland fitness, and video feedback to prepare and promote our riders.
We specialize in contest coaching at all levels, aiding in trick acquisition and providing social media to our riders.
Our US season extends from October 20th through April 20th. During this period we train at Breckenridge or Keystone from 9am-2pm on weekdays, followed by dryland sessions from 3pm-5pm. We spend weekends coaching the events that our riders are competing in.
in the US offseason Kirk’s Camp also hosts skate camps and international snow camps. We can design custom trips and provide coaches for any major event, regardless of the time of year. Our coaching staff has extensive experience at competitions ranging from World Cups, Dew Tour, US Open to regional events.
Klaudia Medlova and Panka Gyarmati were rising stars from Eastern Europe looking for team support while riding in the US.
Reid Smith, Robby Meehan, and Cooper Whitter were single minded urban disciples in need of promotion and guidance.
Eric Beauchemin, Brett Moody and Luke Winkelmann were competitive rippers, just shy of making the US Team and looking for the professional coaching that would take them there.
These are just some of the riders with different ages, styles and nationalities, who all found what they sought in the support of Ian Kirk, Chris Waker, Lizzy Beerman, Thomas Tikos Kadji, Charlotte Van Gils, Steve Lauder and others who have made up the staff of Kirk’s Camp since its inception in 2013.

I met Kirk a couple of years ago in Colorado. I didn't really know anyone back then and couldn't speak much English either. The first season I was over there I just used to watch the whole team cruising and having so much fun together and I was thinking, damn I would love to have a bunch of friends and shred like that too. The next couple of years, boom! I got stuck with them and I was really enjoying my snowboarding so much! Thank you, Kirk for the opportunity at my very beginning, cuz I was just a small town girl, living in that lonely world out there!
— Klaudia Medlova, Slovakian Olympian 2018
Ian gave me the freedom to snowboard the way I wanted while helping me progress in the direction I chose. Whether it was filming in the backcountry and street or learning tricks in the park, the crew always had my back and pushed me in the right direction. On top of all that I learned so much about being safe in the backcountry and how to market myself.
