Ian Kirk

Ian Kirk has worked in the snowboard industry since 1994, but his on-board experience extends back to the 1980s. Starting as a sponsored rider in New Hampshire, he has worked in instruction, production, promotion, distribution, marketing, fitness, education, coaching and company management. A level 300 USSA coach with 17 years of coaching employment, Ian has worked with some of the biggest names in freestyle snowboarding. As a lifelong skateboarder and recreational climber and surfer, Ian understands and helps to foster adventurous outdoor lifestyles. His tenure as a schoolteacher and his Wilderness First Responder certifications allow him to do this in a responsible and comprehensive manner. Vast international experience, industry connections and decades of film and photography work are further reasons for aspiring professional snowboarders to spend some time under his tutelage.

Lizzy Beerman

Lizzy Beerman is a graduate of Stratton Mountain School and a former US Team Halfpipe rider. She has coached with multiple international snowboard programs and has been working with Kirk’s Camp since its inception. A professional photographer and accomplished climber and fitness coach, her coaching is focused on style and power. This can also be seen in her riding. With our history of strong female riders, I am proud to have the best female coach in the industry working with me.

Chris Waker

Chris Waker made his first impression on me in 2004 when I started coaching him at Stratton Mountain School. His energy and work ethic drew me to him then, and he was the first and only person I considered as a partner when I started Kirk’s Camp. Chris is a former professional rider, a level 200 coach who has worked for numerous international programs, and a man with a plan for any situation. Easily the most exciting young coach in the game, he brings stoke to every session and leads by example. The podium count of young riders under his care speaks volumes and the credit given to him by past pupils is a testimony to his dedication. His eye for technical adjustment is unparalleled in my experience. If he can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed!
